So many of the supporting roles were superbly played--Abel Sunday, Al Rose, H.M. Tilford. I was happy to see actor David Warshofsky (H.M. Tilford) in this week's episode of "Lie to Me." It made my day.
I recently found out that there really was an H.M. Tilford--he was a Standard Oil executive at the turn of the 20th century.
Yeah, the way he played Tilford was terrific, I thought. The restaurant scene where Daniel is towering over him, sneering, and you can see a subtle display of emotions on Tilford's face as he sort of tries to figure out what to do during Daniel's harangue - he seems to go from detached polite to bewildered to finally a little resignation with a tight smile - as if he knows the only way he's going to get out of this is by grinning as he bends down to grab his ankles. he's the typical company man, but that was pretty much a new phenomenon at that point in history, I believe.
anyhoo, did anyone notice that kevin o'connell is on The Beast? (with Patrick Swayze)
I haven't seen The Beast. Is it good? I didn't recognize Kevin in TWBB, but when I saw the credits, I said oh yeah! Peggy Sue Got Married is one of my favorite films.
This week's The Mentalist had a scene in Greystone (aka Plainview Mansion). Ah, memories.
I find I am watching a lot of TV lately, and I am going to movies less. I am NOT blaming TWBB, but truthfully nothing else comes close. I just don't have the same experience. Then again, it could be that 2008-2009 did not produce the same quality as 2007, which I thought was an exceptional year. However, I did like In Bruges a lot, and not just because Fletcher Hamilton was in it.
